Determination goes a long way in achieving the unachievable. Some people believe that talent and a winning attitude are all you need in order to succeed in your endeavors, but a winning attitude means having determination, which many people lack.
Once i was in my first year in college and it took me longer than expected to realise I wasn’t doing so well up until second year. And then in the third year I decided i was going to change for the better in terms of how i manage my time to doing the right things at the right time and change they say is constant even though most people do not see reasons why they must work alongside Change.
At that point when I decided i was going to change wasn’t exactly the determination itself but one of the processes to it because it takes going through the processes to actually fulfil determination. That singular thought of change was what changed my life and redirected my life towards achieving what I had thought almost impossible to achieve.
One thing you should know is that when going for a change and I mean massive change in your life in order to take another step further, you need to disregard whoever and whatever might be standing in line of you actualising that dream. You need to stay focused, not minding anyone around you. DETERMINATION they say, comes from within you, it has to do with you and what you hope to achieve in the end.
If you keep on minding what people would say to you, you would never take any leap towards fulfilling purpose. Even if you have been on that change and it seems not working, continue. Don’t relent. Keep at it. Persevere. That was what Isaac did in Gen 26: 15-22. The philistines kept on filling the well he dogged with earth and that didn’t stop him from digging again till he was able to conquer the philistines.
What is it you’re doing at the moment and it just not going well and all you think is giving up already. No, don’t. You don’t have to. All you need do is persevere and you would see the hand of God.
Have you spoken a word to that mountain that seem insurmountable? Or you’re rather afraid to speak the word? Need I remind you that if it was God’s will for the mountain to be there, Jesus would not have told you to move it? Your mountain needs to hear your voice and that’s why Jesus said Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.
If the mountain is there, you can move it because there are no immovable mountains.
We’ve always been hearing and even saying it whether jokingly or seriously that “what you cannot take, do to no man” but we don’t seem to understand its in-depth meaning.
Jesus in His teachings in the books of Matt 7: 12 and Lk 6: 31, was talking about this same issue.
The more i tried to look into it, the more i realised that most people find it difficult to abide by this GOLDEN RULE.
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets(Matt 7:12).
In our society these days, many things happen because we’ve failed to realise that we get back what we sow. The funniest thing is that when we’re being paid back in our own coin, we find it very painful and undeserving not remembering we are being…
One thing I lack in all my life that I’ve been in existence is CONSISTENCY. I really do not have what it takes to measure up to it or at least emulate it. This is something I’ve tried practicing but it just wouldn’t work. I see it working for people or should I say I’ve seen people demonstrating it and it does nothing than leave me in awe. I’ve actually paid people to teach me or rather try inculcate the habit in me but it wouldn’t work. I could remember when I wanted to open this blog so I could daily share my thoughts and experience with people but someone walked up to me and say, are you sure you would be consistent? And it got me thinking for weeks if I would really be consistent. But then I didn’t mind what my head was saying to me because deep down my heart I knew I truly wouldn’t. And yes, to confirm those words that was said to me and what my head began suggesting, few months after I had opened the blog, it’s either I would post twice a month or not posting anything at all. It went on like that, that I didn’t even realised my blog was supposed to be celebrated at one year anniversary in January only for me to realise few months back that i didn’t. Still I didn’t care up until last month and then I decided to challenge myself by making sure I write everyday, at least by then I would be able to share whatever I’ve written and since then it’s been working for me that if i don’t post in any i won’t be myself and thanks be to God because sometimes, get to post three times a day. I am not sharing my thoughts to praise myself, I just want to encourage someone out there reading this piece that you can still be consistent at whatever good thing you do and get positive results. Don’t relent, keep moving. You need movement to get to your next level. And at the end of the day, you will realise it pays to take that step so you wouldn’t be stagnant.
If Jesus had decided not to die for us when he did, not to take the whips for us when he did, then we wouldn’t have been in existence today.
That thing that God has laid in your heart to do, that you have refused to do all in the name of finding a favourable time, you have allowed the occasions of the world dominate your chance, you have allowed the occasions of the world determined your time of fulfilling purpose.
Beware! Stop procrastinating!
God’s time isnt bound by situations. It is high time you begun unleashing those God-given talents.
You don’t have to blame others for what they didn’t do right. You can be the change!
You don’t have to blame others for their way of belief. We all have different perspectives towards things. The change can start from you!
You don’t have to blame others, making them wrong or expecting them or situations to change. Rather, change start with you and when you change, everyone would realize and when they do, it spread individually and eventually you have changed the world. You too can be the change!
Welcome to another day of food for the soul with harbidemy’s blog.
We appreciate your love and support thus far.
I know you’ve probably had lost opportunities and here you are trying to accept the fact that you can actually still achieve something irrespective of how time and chance has dealt with you but there you are wondering how you can embrace yourself and believe yourself again.
But hear this,
If you’re not where you want to be in your career or in your life, never let yourself believe change is impossible. Don’t allow your future to be limited by your age or your situation; stop being afraid of what might go wrong and start getting excited about what could go right.
So today we gonna be talking about 10 ways you can begin right now to steer yourself towards a more fulfilled and happy life:
Address the choices you’ve made in the past and change the choices you’ll make in the future.
Life is made up of choices, there are some we regret, some we’re proud of and some that will hurt us. Everything in your life and your career is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want different results, start making different choices. Its as simple as that.
2. Speak up with honesty and stop holding back what you think.
People often believe that honesty won’t win you many friends, but even if that were true, the friends you make with honesty will be the right ones. Honesty is the cornerstone of all success, without which confidence and the ability to perform cannot exist. And so, no holding back.
3. Leave the mentality of a perfectionist. Perfect doesn’t exist.
Oh yeah, you heard me correctly. Once you realize perfect doesn’t exist, you can ease up on yourself. There’s no harm in being wrong or making mistakes, as long as you’re willing to make corrections. Just be yourself. No human being is perfect, be aware that we can’t push away our failures and our flaws.
4. Acknowledge your losses and move on to your success.
Remember, winners aren’t people who never fail but people who never quit. It’s important to never let success get to your head or failure to your heart. The secret to getting ahead is to acknowledge your failures and have the wisdom to apply them to new opportunities. That’s the only way you can move on in life.
5. Remember that it’s not how many mistakes you’ve made but what you learn from them that defines you.
Your number of mistakes doesn’t matter at all because whether you like it or not you won’t always make the right decisions. But your mistakes doesn’t mean you’ve failed, only that you’re trying and learning in life. If you are not making mistakes it means you are not trying hard enough. When you learn from them, mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before.
6. Forgive those who have hurt you but change who you surround yourself with.
This is very necessary. You can improve your life just by changing the people you surround yourself with. If there are some who have brought negativity or hurt into your life, accept that those actions can neither be undone nor forgotten except only forgiven. Take it as a lesson learned and surround yourself with people who support you, guide you and make you better than you already are.
7. Find success at the edge of your comfort zone.
Regardless of our hesitation or fear, humans need change to be happy. Try to do something you’ve never done before. Don’t be afraid to try new things and stand in your discomfort zone. If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.
8. Don’t compare your own life with anyone else’s.
This is one thing I would never do to myself. A big source of unhappiness is the idea that other people’s lives are better or easier than yours. Of course, we’re not the same so why compare me with them. And when you compare your situation to that of others, you’re comparing your complete reality to their surface. No matter how fantastic, how happy, how brilliant everything may seem on the outside, you never know what’s going on, on the inside. You may think they are living well than you but they equally have their challenges.
9. Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go higher than you think.
I usually tell people to be careful about what they think of because what you think is what you become. And the sad truth is that most of us are our own worst enemy, allowing our negative thoughts to hold us back. If you load up on positivity and great thoughts, you can create positive and great things for yourself. If you want to change and change fast, start by changing how you think.
10. Eliminate the unnecessary and cultivate the essentials.
Think of all the things in your life that are important to you, the essentials and hold on to them then eliminate everything else. This system helps you simplify your life and see what you should focus on. It can work for anything you have in your life, professional or personal. And just the act of letting things go will help you to focus on what’s important, and to build the life you want.
