Baggage: A barrier to Forwardness.

I recall I began on the note of working on ourselves in my previous post, but today its going to be taking another turn entirely though still on the same working on ourselves.

Many atimes we carry baggage that are not ours and we expect to move forward in our daily living. Yours could be strive, malice, envyings, hatred, adultery, fornication, drunkenness, murders, heresies, uncleanness and what have you.

These baggage will not lead you anywhere, instead, it stops your forwardness. Have you ever seen a heavy laden man move on a faster level? He picks his step one after the other and every other person gets to meet him on the way and leave him behind. That’s what it does to us when we carry extra load we’re not supposed to carry as Christian, hence, the need to drop them off ourselves.

Also, it prevent us from achieving goals. When you carry so much baggage, you’re incapacitated. Nothing would be achieved smoothly. You can’t even add up to yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. You’re more like a stagnant water, it neither flow in nor flow out.

Drop these baggage so you can be free. Have you ever heard the phrase “travel light”? That when you’re travelling outside the country, your luggage gets weighed so as not to overload yourself. My mum would always weigh her luggage before leaving the house to be sure she meets with the flight standards. Yeah! That’s what travel light is. You need to drop certain things that are not giving glory to God. You need to drop certain things that are not worthy of emulation in your life. Anything you do that you can’t leave a legacy for your unborn children, isn’t worth doing. Drop them today, drop them now. Be free, stay free, live free and be free indeed.

Stay blessed and thanks for stopping byβ€πŸ€—

So, profound!
This reminds me of Hebrews 12:1b that says we should, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and run with patience the race that is set before us.

It’s so true how baggage serves as a barrier to forwardness. Thanks so much for sharing.
